Homophobic People - Justify Your Hatred

Explain in detail why it's ok.

Don't use the bible as an excuse. (Despite the bible saying to throw away the old laws, and God condoning the murder of innocent women and children).

You should all realize, if we lived by the bible, exclusively, every single one of us would be in prison.

Even condones rape. Oh no, I'm sorry, the rapist and the girl that was raped are forced to marry. God, you're a sicko for that one.

...But again, you say to throw out the old laws, so the bible is incorrect.

I rest my case.

Oh, just so you know, God has personally wiped out cities in the bible, believes in slavery, and don't even get me started about his utter hatred toward women.

Nothing what you just said makes any kind of sense in any kind of context. If you're going to misquote the bible as to why it's incorrect or outdated, do it correctly in the right context.

Btw there's a difference between being homophobic, and not accepting homosexuals based on religious scripture. The latter doesn't breed hate on any level, or at least it shouldn't. In religion you are taught to respect your neighbor, not his choices.

I think Jman woke up this morning believing he lived in a country with a large amount of people who follow Islam. Since then his post makes complete and utter sense in that context.

Okay well you do know there are plenty of topics in the religion forum that discuss the messed up stuff in the bible. There is definitely some horrid stuff in there. I'm pretty sure one time this guy makes some bears eat some kids/teens because they taunted him.

I know for a fact you don't dislike homosexuals, so your presence here is irrelevant.

Look I dislike the homophobia of the Abrahamic religions as much as the next guy, but what are you trying to prove here? There are atheist (and of course Muslim) homophobes as well. Some people just are intolerant of homosexuality. Personally I think these people are foolish, but there's nothing I can do.

What's this thread going to do? Use logic to prove to homophobes that their intolerance is unfounded? Homophobes are beyond logic, or have their own codes of logic. This thread will tell them nothing they haven't heard before. As Nemebro stated, hate IS the justification.

Every single homosexual man in the whole world raped my grandfather and that's why I hate homosexuals.

Would that be logical?

I'm guessing that's your point. That even if you have a genuine reason to hate 1 specific homosexual or even all of a certain group of them that it's illogical to then apply that hatred to all of them.
