Also big difference on the Time Travel aspect...
Skynet had to resort to Time Travel in an attempt to stop the humans from defeating it...
The mutants had to resort to Time Travel to save themselves from extinction from the Future Sentinels...
Skynet/Cyberdyne needed Time Travel to have a chance at victory against normal humans (lol); Trask Industries/Future Sentinels were on the verge of winning against a race of superhumans without it...
