Where be this debate?
What better lure for multitudes than Byss’s siren call of beauty and peace? Once there, their wills are destroyed by the Emperor and his Adepts, and replaced with an illusion of tranquility as they blissfully surrender their life energy to sustain the Emperor.-- Dark Empire Sourcebook
Training his most select servants in the ways of corruption, he made them into Dark Side Adepts, and with them, pushed the frontiers of the “science of darkness.” They rediscovered forgotten and long taboo applications of the Force, chief among them the draining of life itself from the populace.-- Dark Empire Sourcebook

Because I have the Nightsister shit typed up already, whereas I'd have to write up a plethora of quotes from TCW Novels, write up TCW magazine entries etc and reformat my entire thread to fit them.
I can't even copy them off Myth's thread and be done with it because he's missing them all mmm
It's effort, and you know how much I hate putting effort into things 🙂

It seems passive. He doesn't appear to be using any sort of noticeable energy during, say, RotJ, and that's when he was simultaneously using Battle Meditation to affect the Battle of Endor - another passive application of the Force.
I thought that was retconned with Nial Declann using it? Interestingly enough, the guy was trained by the Prophets of the Darkside on Kaas, which suggest that they have knowledge of that ability themselves. Hmm....man I really wish I had those 2 Polyhedron magazines about the Prophets, I wanna make them a RT..
