Being more powerful than someone who literally willed themselves to survive after bisection, and give Kyle a hard fight is far above Sirak, LMAO.
And as far as "giving Kyle a hard fight" goes, I'm fairly certain Katarn wasn't remotely at his peak as a duelist.

Quote for Sariss being more powerful than Maw?
It's in The New Essential Guide To Characters, tbh. Do you have a copy on you? I have it on my tablet, but I'm watch YGO atm to I'll post after I'm done. Anyway, in the book, thereis a quote that says each Dark Jedi Kyle defeats is more powerful than the next, or something along those lines. Since Sariss was defeated after Maw....

Kyle was pretty beastly even at this stage. Besting Rom Mohc in H2H while he donned the most powerful exo-suit in the Empire , wrecked Maw, used Wall of Light to cut Jerec off from the Force, fought Boba to a "standstill" etc. What has Surik has to his name that even come close to the above. I'm frankly, all ears.
A ground-pounder serving under the decorated Republic Grand Army General Locus Geen during the Clone Wars, Rom Mohc saw action in the Coruscant Insurrection of the Separatist's cortosis droid army. A cybernetics specialist obsessed with personal combat, Trooper Mohc fought the droids mano-a-mano, exploiting the weaknesses he had observed in the battle droids' designs. For his bravery, Mohc was touted as a hero all over the HoloNet.

Mohc at last met his match when the Imperial traitor Kyle Katarn, whom Mohc had last seen receiving the prized Medal of Valor, confronted him on the Arc Hammer. Despite donning one of the only Phase Three Dark Trooper exosuits produced aboard the massive craft, Mohc was defeated by the Rebel in hand-to-hand combat.

On Danuta he mowed down a base full of stormtroopers. He went toe to toe with a Phase Three Dark Trooper and won, then defeated seven Dark Jedi, each more powerful than the last.

Katarn followed the trail from bombed-out Rebel outpost on Talay to Mohc's ship the Arc Hammer. Along the way he rescued Crux Marine from prison, and battled Boba Fett to a standstill.
