Makes sense to me. I don't think the worship the Force in the same way people worship God but rather follow it and let them guide it so more along the lines of Buddhism rather than Christianity. Plus the Force has been referred to as a religion all the way back in ANH.
I don't recall any of that being mentioned in the Star Wars novels when I read them back in the day, but I willl admit it has been a very long time since I read them. SO I until I re-read and larn diff I am going to go that is is just part of the FanFic Fanerization silliness that popped up with around the time of the prequels.

The Force is called a religion literally three times in A New Hope.

The beginning and shooting down Dameron's tie fighter. Get it together.
Empie took down a cruiser and blew up a planet in the first Movie so sounds about even.

I recall Han calling it a hokey religion but I didn't get the FanBoy Wank that the new series put up around it.
Originally posted by FlyattractorFirst order blew up five planets. Even by your own logic you fail.

Yea, the first order is awesome. They appear to be an even bigger death star and even easier to destroy.
ooooohhhhhh!!!!!!
Originally posted by ZenwolfI didn't bring up the bases. Follow along the quotes. He brought up the Death Star so by his logic I brought up their giant base. Next time follow along with the quotes, rookie.
Quan, you bring up the Storms to try and compare them, but then bring up the SK base and DS that have nothing to do with the Storms at all. Not sure what logic you're using there.

Agreed. Sure it can wipe out multiple planets in a system, but that's not going to even be that useful most of the time. The big advantage it has it can target planets across the galaxy and doesn't have to travel there. But this is offset somewhat by it's long ass charging time.
And yes, it certainly seemed even easier to destroy. Even the still unfinished DSII was more difficult to destroy.
Originally posted by ares834False. The two Death Stars are much easier to destroy than Starkiller which was compared to Death Star. It was bigger, more powerful, etc. Quit being a troll.
