Luke Cage vs Nobu

Luke Cage vs Nobu

- Fight takes place in Luke's bar.
- Luke has a titanium baseball bat.
- Nobu has his shoge hook and a dagger.
- Fight is to the death.
- Opponents start 10 feet apart.
- Both have knowledge about their opponent. Luke knows Nobu is an immortal ninja, and that he needs to do something like completely bash his skull in to win. Nobu knows that Luke's skin is nearly unbreakable, but that his eyes can be pierced.

So which comes out on top? Speed and skill? Or strength and toughness?

Luke. Despite being invulnerable, he's shown decent skill and speed. In boxing gym trailer he doesn't need to block those goons, but he casually blocks everything before tossing them away. Nobu would have to solely aim for Luke's eyes, but the problem is Luke could block and snap his weapons right off. Or he could just catch Nobu with a wild swing; even a glance would send him flying and basically end the fight.

I disagree. Admittedly, I was operating under an incorrect premise regarding the whole eye thing, which I've admitted in other threads already (they actually had to roll his eye back and stick the syringe down a duct behind it to penetrate his head, something unlikely to occur in a fight). However, operating under the assumption that Nobu could injure Luke by targeting his eyes, no, it's not spite IMO. At the time the thread was made, the actual skill gap between the two was pretty significant and Nobu himself isn't a normal human.

Anyway, did you really bump a 4 year old thread just to say that? Because if you want to talk about mismatches, I can link a few much more recent examples.

And lets agree to disagree

🙂 lol touche. I too thought they would be good fights. Heck I still think the first one is.

Trish doesn't have the feats IMO. Her most impressive successful showings are against fodder/people with zero impressive feats, because it's made pretty clear that, without some kind of handicap or her holding back, Jessica would lay her ass out hard. At least that's the impression I got.

Heretic.

Anyway, this guy:

YouTube video

Probably the guy who most consistently gave Matt serious trouble out of all of his opponents, barring Black Sky Elektra. He's a quasi-immortal ninja who, based on a comment Elektra made during Daredevil S2, should be somewhere around two centuries old. Stick had to decapitate him after Matt threw him off the roof of a skyscraper to permanently kill him.

they go eat dinner at Nobu restaurant lol

I wonder how Nobu actually stacks up in strength to someone like Fisk. He obviously doesn't hold a candle to Luke in this area, but, like a number of high ranking Hand members, he possessed a level of enhanced strength. Because he generally seemed to hold the strength advantage in his various fights against Matt and has some decent striking feats:

Imagine getting uppercut so hard that you do a fukin backflip.

all these are incomplete

Imagine getting uppercut so hard that you do a fukin backflip.

So Nobu is as strong as The Deep (The Boys 2019). Fưćking embarrassing

What do you mean "incomplete"? They all work fine for me.

Also, maybe the Deep is stronger in the water? lol He definitely isn't very competent though. Like that whole bit with the

Spoiler:
whale
could have been avoided if he just
Spoiler:
capsized the boat to begin with. Instead he tries to use a living creature as a barricade.

My bad. They didn't play well in my phone browser. They cut.out before the end. Worked fine on chrome though

Yeah Deep's an idiot, but the thing is nobody can predict what Butcher will do

Yeah, Butcher is a difficult customer to deal with, but Deep just seems to completely lack even the most basic common sense. Because the whale is hardly the only sea creature that's met its end because of him. We can start forming The Deep's Dead Sea Friends Gallery, so far containing a dolphin, a lobster and a whale.

Then again, as he said, he's the diversity hire. He clearly wasn't hired for competancy or intelligence.
