Odin was bloodlusted.
He was about to destroy even asgard.
He was enraged because what Thanos did to his son.
He flat out stated that he will kill Thanos several times in the fight, and thought atleast thrice that he killed Thanos. And Thanos was NOT EVEN FIGHTING BACK properly, considering that he came there to get help, not to fight.
And I want to see evidence that Thanos was "damaged" because the comic doesn't even remotely hints.
If Odin was bloodlusted he wouldn't have been about to destroy Asgard..he would have been about to destroy the surrounding galaxies.
The fact that Asgard was still a thing after this and not just a speck of cosmic dust shows he wasn't going all out.
Next you'll say Thanos gave Tyrant a good fight too.
Originally posted by Surtursorry but the whole Odin destroys galaxies every time he tries in a fight is bullshit. He's had plenty of battles over the years in which he's had a fight on his hands and not destroyed Galaxies.

Originally posted by apex_pretador So did Thanos, infact moreso. Odin was blasting Thanos contiinuously throughtout the battle, while Thanos was NOT trying to do it. He only blasted him once.
Once again, get your facts straight before debating...
You say that Thanos only blasted Odin once?
Lets count and see:
🙂

Ok, let's break this down meticulously.
+++++++++++++++
Thanos and Odin hit each other directly 3 times.
We'll place them side by side and see if there's this
'Odin dominated the fight' or 'Odin beat Thanos down' rumors ...
_______________

+++++++++++++++
That's it.
Now, after all that, let's look at both fighters' condition (at-least visually)
and see where their confidence lies so far in the battle,
cause I think that says a lot imo.
It seems like both Odin and Thanos are equally confident in themselves as would be victor ...
... but then the Trident comes out. 🙁
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is AFTER Odin hit Thanos 3 times:
*edit*
I should throw this one in too,
since it's also after Odin hit Thanos the 3 times:
Imo, in both scans Thanos looks ok, and confident he can win.
btw. I'm not saying Thanos would win either way,
I'm just scrutinizing this particular part of this battle, without the Trident.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
++++ Darn it, why didn't Thanos pull out a weapon like Odin did? 😛
Thanos is too cocky (bare handed) going up against Odin plus a weapon. 😈
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
BTW:
I never said Thanos beats Odin, in fact, I know in the long run,
Trident or no Trident Odin wins.
Now, it is clear, yes IMO, from the on panel action,
that without the Trident, it would have taken Odin FAR longer to beat Thanos.
How long? Who knows.
Also, it is also clear, NOT imo, but via the on panel facts,
that it would take Odin destroying Asgard to put down Thanos for good.
This was stated on panel, and it's depicted via art
that Asgard was indeed getting pummeled in the dual.
Heck just to get Thanos to his knees momentarily, part of Asgard was destroyed.

These false myths about Odin holding back or taking it easy have to stop. Read the dialogue and understand what words mean. Thanos refused to go down despite being in Asgard and it ended in a standoff.
Its no myth; Odin absolutely held back against Thanos...
Odin has demonstrated the ability to bring more punch to a fight than he did against Thanos many times...
Odin didnt even bring out his strongest weapon against Thanos...
Odins Sceptre of Power is his strongest weapon, not Gungnir:

And as all of us that actually know what we are talking about are aware of, Odin can draw the life force of the entire Asgardian Race into himself to massively self amp...
Again, something Odin did not do against Thanos...
The facts are the facts; Odin could have drawn on far greater power against Thanos than he did...
Odin>>>>>>Thanos.
The facts speak for themselves...
