Kilgrave should get a mention, even though he isn't strictly a movie character (though he is a part of the MCU). He's not exactly a great combatant but, unless you happen to be Jessica, he can literally just tell you to strangle yourself, jump off a bridge, take a knife and stab yourself... you get the picture.
Also, he is a complete and total sociopath, who will do whatever he wants, whenever he wants. Which is also why he fits well into the fear/awe category. Because he is a total psycho who can make anyone do whatever he wants, he does some horrible and cruel things to some people, and you never really know how far he was about to go at any given point. Plus, the show really did a good job of conveying the sheer powerlessness people feel while under his control.
