Star Forge amp

What are the real effects of the Star Forge amp and what benefits does it truly grant a user?

I would like multiple opinions and theories on how this is used and why Darth Malak (cant seem to live without it)

Same amp that most nexus's(nexi?) grant Dark Siders just on a larger scale

Evidently it assisted Bastila in her Battle Meditation and Shit.

Darth Malak can live without though. Anyway, it acts a normal Dark Side Nexus; no different than any other.

The Star Forge nexus is unique. Darth Malak's amp is special since it is carried off the station. It's a permanent amp.

How is it a permanent amp? That doesn't make sense.
