That only applies to Sith that have surpassed their masters. Clearly Maul didn't. Cause ya kno, he lost his dick to a Padawan Kenobi.

But that's fine go ahead and ignore the setback the Sith suffered when Gravid went rogue. Denial is always expected amidst defeat

And no, you can't apply that to other Sith Orders. It's only ever mentioned for Bane's Order of the Sith Lords.

Maul, Tyranus and Vader don't get scaling, though.

The setback was in knowledge, not raw power. Gean still succeeded in killing Gravid, so she still grew more powerful. The cycle still continued. And the newest sourcebooks, published well after Darth Plagueis only reiterate the fact that each generation of Banite Sith was more powerful than the last.

Tbf, the Banite progression doesn't prove that Bane < Maul any more than it proves that Sidious < Maul, but it does make it pretty plausible.

It becomes something of what you consider more impressive. Obviously, Maul can be called into question for failing against Padawans multiple times, his mediocre force feats, and his inconsistent showings. But Bane's feats are hardly better, lol
