I personally am of the opinion that you should never meet your "hero". Its is almost always a Let Down.

Tell him that he shouldn't have pushed for any early renewal of Angel.

This doesn't apply if your hero is Joss Whedon.

If he isn't what you expect it's a let down, but if he is what you expect you are still ending the evening with Joss Whedon as your hero..so that is a let down either way.

I personally think you should separate liking a person's body of work from having/needing to know or like the person themselves.

I may like a musician's albums & songs but that doesn't mean I want to hang around or judge them for the amount of drugs, alcohol or womanising they do.

I agree, this is why when Mel Gibson turned out to be a douche it didn't make me like his films any less. Or at least the films of his I liked.

I always found irony in the fact that you see a junkie on the street, you ignore them.

But give that junkie a guitar, a microphone & a record deal & you end up paying their royalties to fund their destructive lifestyles.
