It really isn't. Senya hasn't been able to fight Vaylin for some time. She definitely won't be able to by the time we get to the middle of KotET.

We have no idea how much time expired between chapter 8 en chapter 16/Beginning of KotET and Senya >> Chapter 8 Vaylin so the latter has some catching up to do

The devs stated between Chapter 3-11 is three weeks, so it's not that long. We know it hasn't even been a year yet by KotET. You may not have any idea, but we do. Because we actually know what we're talking about.
