I'm on the extreme end of there being almost no overlap between the major incarnations of Sidious and Vitiate: DE > RotJ > RotS > EoTPM > Plagueis >= TPM ~ Valkorion > TOR >= Caedus ~ Krayt > novel > Nihilus > Revan ~ Vader >= Kun > Galen Marek > Dooku ~ Ragnos.

I mean. I don't have them too far apart but I feel like Plagueis and Sidious unbalancing the Force is ambiguous enough when compared to Vitiate's feats to take the blurb seriously. How do you see it?

I am also in agreement to it being ambiguous in that we don't know how impressive it makes them. "More impressive than Vitiate" doesn't suffice as an accurate quantification, imo.

But I think arguments can be made for Plagueis > Novel Vitiate that don't require the imbalance feat.

I mean, fair enough. I hold the stance that blurbs and statements should only be taken when supported by feats or when the issue is clouded that they can be used to clear it up. I.E. Vitiate > Nihilus. Plagueis > Vitiate. Caedus > Vader. etc.

Obviously stuff like Revan > Nihilus or Bane > Exar Kun is idiotic.
