Pretty good video. I worked at McDonald's as a high school student to pick up some extra cash. I loved it. I thought the evening rushes were fun and I enjoyed the challenge.
Higher education exists so that you can specialize in fields that requires a certain degree of expertise—like an engineering, jurisprudence or medicine. Generally appealing to clientele and costumers is common sense and not something that you should have to learn, especially not in higher education.
In our lectures all we did was deduce formulas and solve problems. The only exception to that was in two of our early courses relating to programming, in which we discussed syntax, programming functions and numerical solutions.

One of the legit criticisms of higher education is that it does not actually teach you how to work in the real world.
The video discusses that. Instead of coddling students and trying to pander to their egos and feelings all the damn time, it should teach them how to be successful in a job after they graduate.
While you may be a hardass who can brute force your way through a job, those are skills most people are not born with and can just come up with on their own. I think many young people need to get a taste for how shitty it can be to have to deal with people so they can be more prepared for their job.
Working in the STEM fields...so many damn egos you have to wade through. Egos, egos everywhere.
This liberal rag, The Advocate (The name alone...) was making fun of McDonalds for stepping it up with premium coffee, looking at your average employee as a pimple faced drooling idiot and asking if they can handle complex coffee orders.
Who do they think works at Starbucks? P.H.D. holders in barista-ing?
They both draw from the same labor pool: kids and the underemployed.
