Except there is no "people" as a whole. There's communities.

People are tribalistic. Larger states already have a bigger say than smaller states, but in the end we're not one nation (No matter what the pledge says).

Plus if you just go by a nationwide vote you might actually see the parties attempt to appeal to people who don't usually vote for them. Maybe the republicans would actually be forced to try and figure out how to get some more minority voters, and the dems might try and draw in more white working class vote, since it won't just be appealing to people in a few states with specific interests.

I was just really worried because when Trump won I said to myself "Well I can't even accept this unless Miley Cyrus accepts him" and SHE DID!!! So thank god.
