Yeah it apparently was. This is actually extremely common, not just among the alt right, but among many communities. Many manchildren Nintendo fans went out of their way to give Horizon: Zero Dawn a very negative review purely because of a perceived "rivalry" the game has with Breath of the Wild.
The critical consensus hovers around 6-7/10, which indicates that it's not amazing, but not 1/5 material either.

The majority weren't trolls, we haven't been shown anything to suggest otherwise. The links to your reddits about it, one had 2 comments, the other 9, and the other 13.

I'm dropping the number 1700 because she got over 1700 reviews on Netflix. Also I'm not sure if you have netflix, but keep something in mind: I'm just referring to the REVIEWS. On netflix you can give a program 1 star or 5 stars without ever bothering to write a review. She had over 1700 reviews on netflix, most of them seem to be negative.
