the matrix reloaded is very different from first movie. it has plenty more actionsequences, and the pilosophical part is harder to understand (for instance the conversation with the architect). in the first movie there were a lot more things to explain, because one dont know whats going on. in the second movie there is less to talk (exept for the scenes with senator humman, the oracle, and the architect) and the action becomes more important.
doesnt matter to me i like both movies and cant see it too often!!
Many people like the first Matrix better simply because it was easier to understand. It was character driven.........the entire film hinged around one character and the audience understanding what his purpose was (to realize he is the one).
Reloaded on the other hand was a story driven movie........it did not focus on one main character. Many characters are added and we see the story on a much larger scale..........we see that Morpheus isn't all that great, he's just a ship captain........they are a dime a dozen.......
In reloaded we are forced to actually think and try to put the pieces of the puzzle that is the story together..........in The Matrix, it was all handed to us, required no thinking whatsoever because it was about one person.
I've said this 100 times in the past month.........Reloaded was not a movie made for stupid people, but many stupid people saw it...........what I mean by that is that a bunch of people went to see Reloaded thinking it was another character driven story with a bunch of fighting.........boy were they surprised to find out that it's actually an ansemble driven story which forces you to think for yourself.......all information isn't just handed to you on a platter.
