Commodus, the father murdering, sister ****ing, backstabbing weasel from Gladiator.

Excellent choice.

A couple of really good choices in this thread. Some characters I hadn't even thought of until I saw them here and actually thought, "Yeah... that person really was a P.O.S.".

Mrs Carmody from The Mist

good that Arnim Zola killed her.

Whoever is running for president

^^^Over a month late with that tired remark. 😆

Vader killed children and blew up planets.

mass genocide is pretty high on the evil scale. Though people actually like him as a character. Maybe if Yellow Bastard raped women while holding a lightsaber, people would like him too.

Vader had a redemption story angle along with his vast evils, so you end up not despising him. Unlike say someone like Commodus who was a horrible piece of shit with a totally punchable face/attitude from start to finish, not a redeeming shred at all.

Bringing up Commodus again actually reminds me... Gaius Claudius Glaber from the Spartacus TV show really was an awful human being as well. Even their smarmy douchebag version of Caesar was more likable than him. Also, Crassus' son, Tiberius, was just horrible as well.

I hated the guts of a villain from the same movie, just not the same villain:

That's just cold, man. He was just chilling when that ship hit him.

Those are some cool puns.

Damn, forgot about Goethe. He was one sadistic, twisted Nazi, and that's saying something.

Honestly, Ledger's Joker was pretty evil. He never pulled off the sum total of his ploys as the final bombs weren't triggered, but he left a decently high body count and cared nothing for those he killed. Murder really was just a game to him. I suppose you can throw in Nicholson's Joker as well. He was going to lay waste to the entirety of Gotham. Didn't hate either of them because of how they were portrayed, but they were pretty vile.

And this guy...

..

He stands out for me because most sadistic evil villains on screen have something to make them less hateable. They are either very charismatic or theatrical. Goeth had nothing. Even when he tried to come across as grandiose he failed such as the liquidation of the ghetto speech. He was just a creepy, horrible rattish person on top of his evil and sadistic actions. Even his fellow officers and superiors hated him.

^^^good one. Very despicable.

Carl Denham.
A greedy little man, who got a bunch of the SS Venture's crew killed, then used a woman as bait to capture a one of a kind animal, an endangered species really, not to preserve it, but to exploit it.
He then used half assed methods to contain that animal which resulted in its escape in a heavily populated area, costing even more lives and property damage. The animal then had to be put down.
He gives a pithy sound bite over the bled out corpse of a noble beast that died confused, heart broken and alone in a strange alien environment it had no choice in being dragged to, and...he's a good guy.

Carl Denham was a piece of shit.
