The older I get, the more the passage of time astonishes me.
I know a host of young people now who were not even born when Anissina and Peizerat were performing, even as I missed them the first time around, largely due to the area they performed in.
This couple was SO ahead of its time, more or less (to my knowledge) pioneering what is sometimes now called the reverse lift. At least one other couple I know of has done it since then, roughly a decade or so later (Federica Faiella and Massimo Scali), but none equal to, let alone better than, Marina and her partner.
