What's going on here exactly?

Her rage spun instants into hours.

First, she tried spearing the hexagonal body with her lightsaber.
Some kind of shield appeared between them, bending her blade back at her own arm, forcing her to retreat.

Is the shield actually bending the energy part of the lightsaber [E.I. Mace vs Sidious] or is it simply sending the entire thing back on impact? Furthermore, how in the heck can attack in a spear-like motion be sent back at someones arm?

The second option, and apparently Satele doesn't know how to spear good.

I figured the second, yeah. The bending a spear-like attack back at someone's arm part is what confused me, lal.
