Yeah, there really hasn't been too much that I've been extremely excited about.

Next year will be different, though, with War for the Planet of the Apes, Alien: Covenant, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, John Wick 2, etc... should be a fun year.

Hopefully.

Not saying as an example, the movies you listed are all bad but even the ones i liked have little to no 're-watch' appeal to me.
Nothing teally Zinged me.

The lack of Civil War or Dr. Strange appearing in the top five is beyond disturbing. One fool actually listed the crap film Suicide Squad as their favorite.

So you are disturbed if people do not share the same tastes as you?

1. La La Land
2. Star Wars Rogue One
3. Hunt for the Wilderpeople
4. Captain America Civil War
5. Deadpool

Yeah, I did like Under The Skin. Cool, so I'll try to check it out.

I liked his Pusher film (even liked both sequels), but I haven't seen much else by him. I wanted to like Valhalla Rising, but it was just too slow for me. I think I might have seen Drive, but I don't remember it very well so I guess it didn't make much of an impression on me. I really find Ryan Gosling very boring.

Haven't seen Valhalla Rising yet. I did watch Only God Forgives. All of them are slow, so is The Neon Demon. But this one made more of an impression to be honest. It's a little similar to only God Forgives in the narrative, but I found that one more boring. Maybe it's Ryan Gosling... he does have that monotone stare... He's not in The Neon Demon BTW. ;-)

So, going to add mine to the bunch:

1. Dr. Strange
2. The Nice Guys
3. Deadpool
4. Captain America: Civil War
5. Warcraft

Though there are a couple of others mentioned in this thread that I haven't seen yet, but still want to.

Off the top of my head:

1. 13 Hours
2. Rogue One
3. Civil War
4. The Accountant
5. Sing Street

Still have to see The Accountant this week. Actually haven't seen 5 films from this year I don't believe.

The Nice Guys
Deadpool
Civil War

I saw TFA, and it falls in there by virtue of the fact that I've seen so few films, but it wasn't very good. If it weren't for all they money behind it, it really doesn't stand up well on its own merits.

man can't believe i haven't seen green room yet!

my list in no particular order

The Witch
Civil War
Arrival
Dr. Strange
Hacksaw Ridge

Hardcore Henry and The Nice Guys.

Civil War
Rogue One
The Conjuring
Jungle Book
Hell or High water

There are a lot of films I still have to see from this year 🙁

Zootopia
Jungle Book
Nice Guys
Conjuring 2

Rogue One
Civil War
Jungle Book

Have to see more 2016 films before I complete a top5, but I don't see the top 3 changing.

You forgot about Dr. Strange.

^ Dr. Strange and Deadpool would probably make it into my top5. But until I see the other films this year like Hacksaw Ridge, I wouldn't know for sure. Like I wasn't expecting Jungle Book to be that good until I saw it. Some non-superhero non-Star Wars films surprise you sometimes 😉

Ok everyone here clearly hasn't seen Moonlight or La La Land

Not in order:

Silence
Arrival
Moonlight
The Edge of 17
Fences

Honorable Mentions:

Hacksaw Ridge
Sing Street
10 Cloverfield Lane (divisive movie, but I dug it up until Winstead's escape and the reveal)
Don't Breathe
