The GOTG were unknown before GOTG1. Iron Man was unknown before IM1. Dr. Strange was unknown before Dr. Strange. Ant-Man was unknown before Ant-Man.

I think “Shazam” as a magic word used for special abilities is known in pop culture. Remember Ramai’s SM1, when Tobey first tries to use his webs?

Pretty sure Beyoncé also says it a lot in her Austin Powers film. I’m sure there’s other examples.

People just aren;t going to spend their money just coz folks on the internet say so.... you are also forgetting that Marvel knows how to do things, while WB doesn;t.. Nothing about Zachary Levi screams that he can carry a live action film as the main star.

If it flops it might well be because it’s a bad movie. But it won’t be simply because he’s an unknown.

If this film is marketed well, has good trailers and reviews people will see it.
