Dceu making good films and on lesser knowns looks to be bringing back the dceu in a big way. This still looks like something I will not enjoy due to its kid like center could still be a good film. This reinforces my ideas that focusing on lesser knowns is way better than shoving Batman and superman down our throats for the umpteenth time.
Seems like the new dceu leadership might be onto to something not even counting adding Gunn to suicide squad.
It will help stabilize the brand with these smaller films. BOP and Joker are smaller film too. The good news is they still have these heavyweight characters to fall back on.
Also there is rumors going around that WB is in the lead for the JJ Abrams sweepstakes. If WB wins they will probably make on offer for him to do a Superman film.

I wonder if they’ll cut all ties to justice league, I mean keep Darkseid as the looming threat
Anti Monitor is the true big bad of dc.

Cosigned. Now that would be interesting.
Darkseid is irrelevant at this point.

So I bought Aquaman on VUDU and there was a exclusive sneak peak at Shazam. It's only 3 minutes but from what I saw it looked like it's going to be good and the jokes landed. When he first figures out he can project lightning is pretty funny.
Good, good. SHAZAM looks like a fun ride.

When did DC give up the name Captain Marvel?
They didn't. Back in the 60's ( I think) WB got Lazy with the Trade mark on the name and let the trademark lapse then Marvel was able to Legally Steal it away from them. That is why we got those kick ass Shazam/Captain Marvel TV shows in the 70's.

Huh? This is pretty much a direct adaptation of the nu52 version of the character. That beer gag is almost taken straight from the comics.Frankly, making the character act like a kid (after all he is a kid) is for the best as it will differentiate him from the plethora of other heroes we've had in recent years. Heck, it the main reason why I am looking forward to this film.

I know the feeling, tbh. While I am looking forward to Shazam personally, because I do like the corny, "Sunny Superman" aspect of the character, I had to go through the same shit with Aquaman. And the X-Men.
I do hope you'll give it a chance, though.
