Anakins sudden fall to the Dark Side makes sense in context

It makes sense. It was just poorly written and displayed on screen. Anakin choked his wife in the same movie. Anakin was not just a Jedi but a solider. He was also for the majority of the movie emotionally conflicted and confused.

Luke was also for the majority of ROTJ. He would have fallen just as quickly if he had accepted his fate. Instead seeing his father's hand was a great reminder to him of a path he did not want to go down. Anakin had no such reminder or help.

Truth is the jedi botched the entire thing. They more or less created Darth Vader.

Yup that's what I've been hinting from the start.

Both Qui & Obi were pretty poor father figures to begin with.

From the start they knew there wasn't something quite right and then act surprised he joined the dark side

I don't think George Lucas cares much for family values.

Hell he had a brother lusting over his sister in the OT!
