I think we are okay. I do take issue with you stating that I came in halfway and I don't know what you're talking about. So a couple of things:
1. It didn't take but a few minutes to catch up. It is not like this conversation was nuanced and complicated. The post you responded to wasn't "halfway."
2. Even without context, my point still stands. Nothing changes. Rioting is not the same as peaceful protesting. And trying to silence people you disagree with is shitty and just shows your fear of their ideas. If your ideals are so fragile that you have to infringe on another's Free Speech rights to get your way, perhaps your beliefs are shitty or weak to begin with?
To make it more clear because I believe you're the type that likes directness and not silly word games:
1. I'm good with protesting and standing up for what you believe in.
2. I'm not good for trying to silence people you disagree with.
3. I'm not good with rioting because you disagree with someone.
4. So I would have preferred that they protest his words and his character. But not tried to keep him from speaking. Only because I don't fear another person's words.
Do we agree on 1-4? If not, which ones do you disagree with?

Even if there was no violence, protesting in general brings attention to whatever cause the people are protesting. In this case, someone who many consider a troll. Protesting a troll will only bring more attention to the troll, which is what trolls want. As a longtime moderator, the best way to shut up a troll is to ignore him and not respond to him, don't give them attention as that's what trolls want. And that seems to be what Milo wants, and that's what he got here. If he had just been ignored then he would have talked to a couple hundred college republicans and no one would have really heard anything about it.
