His good/bad film ratio doesn't exactly inspire confidence given that the first GotG was excellent and everything else has been mediocre at best.

Stop getting your own opinions mixed up with facts and vice versa.

It's not my fault you lot regularly cream yourselves over movies that turn out to be utter dogshit.

lol. I'm usually critical of films I suspect to be shit and most of the time are after seeing them, but this one, I don't know. Doesn't help that the bar's so low after the mess that David Ayer and WB left with the first film, so people might be more optimistic than usual.

It somehow manages to look both better AND worse than the last one at the same time.

Which is perfect, because the trailers for the first were great, but the movie was horrible. The trailers for this are... odd. But that fits Gunn. When the trailer dropped for GotG I assume it would be a huge flop.

If it's awesome and does well it'll be a double edged sword cos WB will once again drastically change the tone and direction of the DCEU to follow it's lead making the entire saga feel even more disjointed than it already does.

Not that widely differing tones for movies that are connected don't work. It just takes extremely skilled writers to make Thor Ragnarok and Captain America The Winter Soldier exist in the same story arc.

Dis is good news. But honestly all the early reactions are the best. Just wait for the critics to get ahold of it...

Personally I think Gunn will nail this.

Remember they had GOTG in mind with the first one, but Ayer just couldnt pull it off.

Plus Gunn had his pick of DC films, and he chose this one.

I mean the first SS was also heavily changed by WB meddling and reshoots, and wasn't big enough of a deal for fans to shout release the Ayer cut. 😛

Lol if I recall a few people asked for it, but that died out real fast.

I would totally give the film another chance if Ayer got to do his cut. But the shit studio-theatrical cut was a total dumpster fire.
