This is composite Vader. And not sure what's so ambiguous about this feat. The whole temple explodes and Vader is seen coming out injured, but still very much alive. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Okay. But given we have no idea what happened, we have no reason to bring that into the equation. Occam's Razor would dicate we go by the simplest conclusion, which is that Vader's injuries were the result of the explosion.

Irrelevant. An attack of that magnitude would not only turn Vader into ash, it would also turn Palpatine into ash. Owning a fleet of SDs >>> any defense any character can come up with.
