Reading they did some test screenings back in December 2015, Which turned out poor so they did reshoots in early December 2016.

It honestly sounds like something i'd see on SyFy.

While the subsequent trailers i saw on TV made it look like a dumb fun popcorn flick (more than the one you originally posted), its still a movie i'm going to wait to see.

i'm only going by the reviews and they're pretty much been killing it.
