New Darth Vader comic

Started by Zenwolf6 pages

On a note, it kinda reminds me of that one Legends Tales comic where Maul came across Siolo'urmanka in that one Tales comic. The isolated Jedi Master who kept away from the Jedi Order and was considered one of their best fighters. Maul gets his butt beat, but then second round he comes in with the win.

Well yeah. Maybe something similar shall happen. Or just random Vader powerup comes.

why doesn vader need a powerup? The loss wasn't legitmate and we've already seen he's more powerful given his ability to choke him

Which the guy then promptly got out of that choke. But we shall see, hopefully it's not lame.

Tbh though, not really getting why in these last couple of issues, Vader's armor has been treated as if it were paper.

Vader tried to choke him but was repelled hard. The Force Push Vader received was as legit as the Force Choke he tried to apply on Kirak.

Fair enough actually.

This guy is essentially Dooku 2.0: Exclusively spends his entire life doing nothing but practicing lightsaber technique, and is seen blocking Vader's TK (albeit Vader was injured). However, IDK why people don't think Vader should be able to kill him. We saw what peak Vader can do, and that's hurl Sidious back against the wall and pin him there. Granted the circumstance of that will be hard to replicate (Vader realized he lost everything and Sidious betrayed him), but if you bring that Vader, with that level rage and hatred, against this Jedi, I'd favor Vader.

Eh I can't see Vader bringing that level frankly against some Jedi Master who he holds no relations with.

Then again stranger things have happened in these new SW comic series soo...who knows.

Another underwhelming issue. They’ve hyped up this Jedi only for him to go out like that?

Maul was never stomped, let alone twice. MAUL was caught off guard in the first fight and let himself be beat in the second one.

...

Words cannot describe how terrible that fight was....hell it wasn't even a fight. I mean I get it, cause Vader was damaged and everything. But..I mean, it was still so disappointing.

He's so focused in killing the Sith that destroyed the Jedi but can't even set his priorities straight...

Well he's still a Jedi, preventing harm to innocent people is kinda their Achilles heel.

So far this comic has been a major disappointment. It’s just been Vader going around killing and fighting things that we, as readers, have no attachment too. It’s boring and does absolutely nothing new.

I liked how Vader cheated but that's the only thing worth a damn in this series so far.

He can't prevent harm to innocent people when he's dead. That was probably one of the dumbest moments I can even remember in the mythos. It also felt contradictory that a very introspective Jedi that prepared himself for that moment would be triggered so easily.

True.

@Ares, yeah...and apparently from what I've read, Marvel has some of their best talent working on the SW comics?...Doesn't really seem like it.

But yeah, how can I care for the character...if they don't really do anything. Vader vs the Ninth Assassin in Legends was great, cause you got to also know the Assassin and the end fight was great because of that.

I mean overall I found the issue fine, characters not too much.

I thought it was cool, tbh. It wasn't changing the world but it was entertaining.

Agreed. And that’s, I think my biggest problem. Legends has basically already told this story and they did it better. I was excited when I heard Vader’s first adventure was to get his saber crystal, believing they could do some really interesting things. But at the end of the day, it was just another fight with a Jedi.

That’s Jedi for you. They’re dumb asses and it’s completely in character for them to do something like this.
