Saw it and enjoyed it for the most part i laughed and was thrilled to see a much more faithful version to Venom than back in 07. My only gripe is that the action scenes with Venom vs. Riot are really fast/rapidly edited, which is the same problem I had with Black Panther, the supporting characters are weak, and I think the post credits scene came without any weight. Overall, Hardy was funny and true to the down and out version of Eddy in the comics. His dialogue and improvisation with the symbiote were good. Definitely much better than Predator/the Nun and the critics are wrong IMO

It was a bit confusing because they had to tell us when someone was mutilated. Because if you blinked you missed it.
Still give the tone of the film, it did not make a massive difference to the films quality IMO.
I felt like if Eddie turned into Venom a little earlier and we had more action scenes like the Apartment one where Brock is using the symbiote and doesnt transform fully I would have liked it much more.
If this would have been released when MCU phase 1 started it would have shit on all the other movies except for Avengers.
Gonna watch for a 2nd time soon...

Venom opens mouth put the whole head inside and chomps it no blood splattering but you can clearly see it disappearing.
Just got back from this. Didn't like it as much as some, but didn't find it awful either. My main gripe was that some of the attempts at humour really didn't work for me, yet they kept persisting with it,
Spoiler:, and this resulted in a few scenes that fell a bit flat for me.
like the whole "I have a parasite" running gag, which I didn't find funny to begin with
Still better than BvS though. 😛
The whole I have a parasyte gag has been said way too many times indeed.
I kinda loved the store scene tho.... "Is that a bad guy? Yep."
Also the symbiote wanting to eat chocolate was a reference to the comics cause it has chemicals similar to the brain and thats how they replaced Venom's desire for eating brains.

Well finished it, still love it. My only complaint was that it felt a bit short. Also the CG at some points of Riot vs Venom was off.
It's most definitely better than Hulk, Daredevil or Elektra. The last two I still have on my computer and let's day whoever compared this film to those has a terrible memory
