Why Not Bring Revan, Bane Or Any Other Ancient Sith in The Films?

Darth Revan is considered to be one of the most powerful Jedi and Sith in SW mythos in the EU in comics, games and novelization (Revan). In the animated series "The Clone Wars", he and Bane were nearly written in, but are seen in the deleted scenes. Bane as well.

Now we are all familiar with Vader, Palpatine, Maul, etc etc. Why not bring in someone like Revan, Bane or Exar Kun?

To be honest, I think it's inevitable in the medium/long term.

A Revan film trilogy would be great

Because it would be f-ucking lame.

We need a Ben movie first where he punches a Krayt Dragon to orbit.

They'll appear in canon eventually, especially if they decide to make films set in the OR era. Trying to throw these guys into post-RotJ films as spectres and what not would be nothing more than shitty fan service. It would have to be done extremely well and extremely convincingly, which I'm not sure they could do.

Because they have a lot less story potential than people imagine.

This is actually true. lmao

People will always compare their Legends iterations and complain about how much Disney sucks. 👆

It's hard not to compare given how long SW remained 1 continuity and the WHAM! Complete reset and some stuff is just subpar with what everyone was used to for 30+ years.

I mean, if you're going to render a lengendary saga pointless with your first installment and then void all lore and end/non canonize great shows while replacing with generally crappy material by comparison, you shouldn't be suprised when poeple are pissed

Because the films take place thousands of years after they're dead? If you think Disney will go outside of anything within the time frame of the OT at this point, you're mad. They obviously don't care about character potential or comparison to Legends. Just look at the movies they've made so far.

they don't seem to care much about the saga given that they made vader's redemption, the formation of a new republic, and luke taking the mantleto start a new jedi order completley pointless. The jedi order was immediately destroyed off screen in a novelization, as was the new republic. Vader's redemption became part of the reason the new republic failed(with it causing people to distrust leia) and his grandson also turned to the darkside and destroyed the jedi order parially because of vader.

They basically rebooted the saga and the trilogy being a sequel trilogy is just for show.

And no, the prequels mirroring the ot makes sense and is good writing because they're prequels. To use that to justify what this sequel trilogy is doing is tupid

Because they will be ruined.

Han Solo isn't actually his real name, as per Disney.

Let's hope they stay away from ancient Legends characters.

stwor's expansions already did that

.....

What.....

WHAT....

It's not a good idea, and they'd most likely change the characters a lot.
