Canon Observation: Force Push Only Works Against Vulnerable Opponents

Every single Force push dished out during a fight, within the TV shows and films continuity, either features a disarmed or open opponent.

The red represents a vulnerable character who was pushed. A blue represents a prepared character who resists.

Based off these findings, I can only conclude that telekinesis is only effective in small openings when the opponent is vulnerable.

Force push is not an ability that Force users can use to batter a ready combatant into submission, despite popular belief of the contrary.

This explains why telekinesis is not used more in Canon fights, especially when a more powerful character is fighting a less powerful character.

This also explains how Ahsoka Tano and Asajj Ventress were able to Force push Darth Vader and Dooku respectively, and why Yoda did not subdue Dooku.

Well yeah, it's always been like that.

Members frequently argue X and Y are comparable since X didn't dominate them with the Force, which isn't the case as long as Y is attentive to the situation.

In reality, Force-push is primarily a skill-based application that supplements lightsaber combat, rather than an expression of raw power. Force choke is a different animal in its entirety though.

What else is new?

What agenda is Ant trying to push with this I wonder?

I've been saying this for years, but it generally gets ignored.

The examples I've brought up a lot is when TPM Maul force pushed TPM Kenobi, and when ROTS Dooku force pushed then later force chokes ROTS Kenobi, that the reality is they were both simply outfighting/outduelling Kenobi in those fights.

Whereas the common goto argument is "Maul/Dooku HAD TO use their TK Advantage because they simply couldn't outduel Kenobi.."

Force push is simply a standard part of dueling.

Now if however they both Force attack but one overpowers the other, aka Dooku vs Anakin in TCW Movie, then we can say that combatant has only won due to his advantage of superior TK Mastery. In the case of say Yoda vs Ventress or Palpatine vs Maul it's an instant win due to a truly Massive TK Advantage.

Do you even have to ask?

Like when Revan Force waved the Coalition strike team.

😂

Ah yes of course, in Legends the Force works differently.

The agenda is revealed. 😂

I see no indication of Canon having passive Force barriers, so yeah, lmfao.

If they existed, attacks being dished out when they are combative my vulnerable would be irrelevant.

Wow, so you're just a moron then. 😬

In Rebels the GI countered Ezra's attempt at Force Pushing him so it seems the other user has to actively resist it and have the necessary reflexes to do so.

Just like it's been.

He isn’t wrong though. I’ve argued this before as well. We see lesser force users catch their opponents with force powers while off guard many times.

Though, I still think it possible to brute force through one’s force defenses.

He's completely wrong, if passive Force barriers didn't exist many SW characters would have died a lot sooner. 😬

Even if they do exist, they are far weaker. Allowing lesser force users to knock around their superiors.

I think it's definitely possible to break the barriers even when a Force-user is defending him or herself against a Force push if the attaker is considerably more powerful.

Well that's also a given.
