ASSJ had much greater power, same speed, its only drawback being the ki drain.

I assume this was before Blue? And it makes sense previously as the higher forms had uncontrollable AOE damage just from energy bleedoff.
Hell 3 was so bad Goku couldn't even really use it without plot till Super.

ever since the frieza saga the SSJ1 isnt good for anything. its good to make your hair blond and get blue eyes, but thats about it.
