That means, well....when he came back to life, he was stronger than before.
I'm not saying that anyone was denying that he was solar powered. Just that it wasn't seen as being a logical factor in his comparative performances. Everyone was insistent that he was even more powerful than he was in the one shot. My point the whole time was that there was good reason to be skeptical about that and not credit him with feats/abilities from flashbacks that took place before DOS.
