And even before ascending to this 'evolved' form, DCnU Arion was still nearly equal to Fate -- in fact, Fate barely managed to defeat and imprison Arion(thousands of years ago) by using an item/magics that caught him off guard.

Yep. Draining some of their power is what allowed Arion to free himself from the prison he was in.
Going off the New52 Secret Six to which I'd assume is cannon, Arion banished all the elder gods singlehandedly. Which should be somewhat impressive.
