Regardless, if density is what taxes her, something as light as the atmosphere would be nothing. The area would be Time Square....squared.

Kitty never turned the air around her immaterial IIRC, since day 1 it was used to propel her as a wraith. She can't breath while phased as well. I presume the air in her lungs pre-phasing is treated like her clothes
