He's as powerful as Palpatine, but he's not as smart, he doesn't fight as aggressively, and he doesn't use the Force as freely. Lesser teams have handed him his ass on many occasions.

It's not just a matter of pulling punches. The fact that he's at his best doesn't change how he tends to fight, which is much more conservative than how Palpatine tends to fight. Unless specified, the forum setting doesn't make Obi-Wan any less of a defensive fighter either.

GM Luke even being on Palpatine's level is debatable.

I concur with NewGuy however, he beats 1 definitely, but he has nothing suggesting he beats any team after that for a majority.

Why is someone as powerful as Anakin already in #2?
Fodder in #1, and someone who could give him a fight on his own in #2 doesn't adds up.
