Misleading Covers

You all know what I'm talking about- sometimes covers can be slightly misleading, and other times they can outright LIE to us...

*Gladiator actually stomped Vulcan in the issue.

*None of them died in the issue.

*They never fought in the issue.

*Captain Marvel didn't appear in the issue.

*Mr. Oz didn't appear in the issue.

*Beyonder didn't appear in the issue.

*Only one person knelt to Negan in the issue, and he got b*tchslapped for it.

**What are some other covers you can think of..?

I don't think it can get any worse of a lie than this.

Think again my friend.

Any comic with a price on the cover

AQUAMAN #29 was originally solicited as "Aquaman vs Atlas" with the above cover art.

But when the issue came out, it was this...

So Hercules replaced Atlas w/out notice or reason.

*Remember when they released teasers implying that Dredd...Judge Dredd...was a homo?

F*ck you, 2000AD! sly

Good catch! 👆

It reminds me of when DC originally released this solicit:

SUPERGIRL #5

Written by MICHAEL GREEN and MIKE JOHNSON

Art and cover by MAHMUD ASRAR

On sale JANUARY 18 - 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US - RATED T

Supergirl's nightmare is finally over - she has left Earth and has somehow made it back to Argo City! But it's not the home she remembers, and a deadly new adversary stands in her way. Enter: Maxima!

However, Mike Johnson made this statement soon after the solicit was released:

And then issue #5 is another new villain. I think there may be some confusion because an early solicitation had her named "Maxima." But this is a new character that we had thought about naming Maxima because we loved the name, even though that character had perished in the previous universe. But we're not using the name Maxima anymore.

...And this is the official cover & character name we were given:

They went from Maxima to.... "Reign"..? The fuk..? 😑

Tarzan & Cheetah did NOT cuddle afterwards.

I was going to post that one. Thor and Thanos didn't even cross paths, such a bullshit cover.

yeah i even preordered that issue because i was for sure theyd fight.

jokes on me. 🙁

^ The pages in the comic are almost exactly the same as that cover

that war of kings cover that had Black Bolt shot up with arrows. I don't think that was in the story

Chaos King originally...

What he become....

There is no fight between the X-Men and the Fantastic Four in the issue at all, let alone a fight between the X-Men and the Fantastic Four where the X-Men wear Doctor Doom masks and try to kill Franklin Richards! Presumably, it ties in with Franklin’s dreams throughout the series of the team having a terrible fight, but it’s still way off base for what happened in the actual comic book.

Quasar #29, shows Quasar pregnant, but inside the actual issue the male heroes have cocoons placed on them. Alas, they were not impregnated themselves

Doesn't punch Hitler or even travel to Germany

Thank God.

The mental image of Wendell birthing a child is...unsettling. ermmnone

Darkseid was not victorious

*Booster didn't get beat up in this issue. Hell, he didn't even get punched one single time.

Avengers (vol. 4) #19 showed The Vision from Young Avengers as part of the new team that was being assembled in the wake of Fear Itself. When the actual issue came out, the cover had been changed to show the original Vision

(scans won't show for me)

Similar note behold original Ronin.... Bendis made him into a new character in X-Men. This was actually released
