Boston Police Department apologizes after sharing ‘inappropriate’ tweet about Black History Month

"In honor of #BlackHistoryMonth, we pay tribute to @celtics legend #RedAuerbach for being the 1st @NBA coach to draft a black player in 1950, field an all African-American starting five in 1964 and hire the league’s 1st African-American head coach (Bill Russell) in 1966."

I don't see what is wrong with the tweet.

Surt's clueless.

While there's nothing wrong with acknowledging what someone else did for equality, there's plenty of Black people who could receive a nod during, you know, during Black History Month.

Do you two acknowledge that this is part of Black American History? It is definitely an important milestone, for sure.

As has been stated, Black History is American History. Built upon the backs of black slaves and the poor.

My suggestion is that they should not have honored the man but should have honored the first black player and the first all-black starting line-up. And mentioned the man as part of that as a footnote. Such as, "Thanks, Coach Auerbach, for recognizing the greatness of our wonderfully talented Black Stars. Truly something to celebrate as a triumphant milestone in the forward progress for a Better Black America. #BlackHistoryMonth"

Where did I put my "World's Smallest Violin" again?

We seem to be on the same page, nothing wrong with acknowledging the man and what he did, just making him the focus of honor was silly.

Alright. 👆

Then if Surt can slide a tad towards my direction, I think we would have a consensus and there's no issue.

I do NOT want the embarrassment and death of retaliation against the US to happen because of Trump. At the same time, I do NOT want more murders to happen against people in other countries because of Trump.

I don't want any people to be murdered. Can we stop this? Can we PLEEEAASE remove Trump and put someone else in who is a much better person (not Pence?)?

Edit - My position makes me absurdly Christian which many would say is a "conservative" perspective. I don't want killing. I want love, kindness, forgiveness, charity, and respect. These are core Christian teachings. Where are they?!?!?!?!

Okay...I'll stop whining. But I'm still triggered AF.

That's incredible. And here I was thinking Obama went pretty ham with drone killings and all that bad shit, and Trump, who ran on an isolationist "keep our nose out of other people's business" type foreign policy has only worsened Obama's worst tradition.

Of course anyone who believed Trump in regards to foreign policy, or anything really, is an idiot. Still, shameful.

Remember when trump bashed Clinton about foreign wars, kek

His supporters are ****ing idiots

It's a part of black history. It was a god damn tweet they didn't put up an hour long documentary to him. Get the f*ck over it.

A group of 70 Nobel Laureates, these are the world’s leading experts in science, medicine and economics, wrote a manifesto supporting Hillary Clinton.

Hulk Hogan supported Donald Trump...

LOL!!!

Nice try kid.

Mother of 14 year old claims she heard racial slurs at a basketball game.

People were asked, and no one else heard them. The kids are being forced to attend a sensitivity workshop anyways.

Now, I'm not going to call the woman a liar, I believe she believes she heard what she heard, and maybe she did. But if all it takes is the word of one person to make the news and cause so much trouble for so many, this would make a pretty viable trolling scheme.

Right up there with accusing someone of being a pedo.

Lol we have tons of stupid smart people out there. Knowledge of science or economics doesn't mean you know what you're talking about when it comes to politics. You can be smart in one aspect in life and a complete idiot in another.

I mean, many of these Nobel laureates are renowned for their public service and for contributions to the betterment of humanity. Not to mention these folks cover the spectrum as far as knowledge, it’s an academically diverse group.

But at least you must admit that they’d know which candidate is the best for progress in science, engineering, medicine etc... That is an authority that can’t be denied.

Yes yes, Hilary would have just changed engineering and medicine as we know it. Hows old lady butt smell?

Now you’re claiming to know better than the leaders of their fields, people recognized universally as some of the most intelligent thinkers in modern history. Not a single one of them supported Donnie trump...

Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk were all anti-Trump too btw

I didn’t really bring up any artists because ppl tend to scream about Hollywood elitests, but every filmmaking visionary with the exception of Clint Eastwood was also a Hillary Clinton supporter. Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Paul Thomas Anderson, James Cameron, JJ Abrams etc...

Yes, liberals were anti Trump lol. Most of Hollywood is liberals too.
