So, turns out a friends wife wrote into the paper condemning the Taco Mayor from East Haven, CT. She's a died in the wool Liberal, while the guy who, when asked what his plans on doing for the Latino community, said "I don't know, maybe I'll order tacos!", is not.
She sent a scathing letter, calling him an embarrassment, and said it was time for a change.
Some days later, she received an unaddressed letter, saying some very bad things. Bad enough to take to the police.
The police told her there was nothing they could do, and to watch her back.
Wow. I guess I won't be sending a letter in to the paper anytime soon. Always figured the death threats and stuff was 4chan style trolls responding to Twitter and such, but I guess even nothing local papers aren't safe. Kind of scary, tbh.
