I'll probably regret this, but I'll try to respond to you. Let's say one day you have a daughter. She gets into a certain sport, it doesn't matter which one. She works hard for it, trains a lot, etc.

In high school she doesn't make the team cuz a dude decided he's a female and tried out for the same team and got the spot.

Would you be okay with it?

I'm actually not keen on minors attributing or having attributed non biological genders. I have a grand daughter.

And I have nieces and a god daughter. I don't want some dudes f*cking with their shit cuz they decided to be girls.

in line with my newly understood status as a non troll. Why does it affect you how people want to be percieved DMB. Why does any of that shit matter, how many Trans people do you meet a week?

Honestly I don't really care at all about the bathroom thing. I just don't think the argument is logically coherent.

I could care less about who is or isn't in the same bathroom as me.

As far as the sports thing I don't have any skin in the game either, I don't have a personal interest in sports too. But there are women who compete in sports who are now going to be outcompeted by males. I thought the entire point of segregated sports was difference in physicality.

I want co-ed boxing.

You see, in schools we have a problem. Girly guys have always existed and usually found school hard. It's difficult for them and they need counselling, but attributing a non binary gender to them is an error. They may decide to have one as an adult. Personally I don't give a **** if adults have mixed toilets. Ive been to clubs where they just have cubicles and the washing area is mixed. Camera in the washing area solves all problems.

Did you just take bath salts or something lol. I don't know what "some males find school hard" has to do with girls suffering from males with a mental illness declaring themselves female and then trying to get on female teams.

They're not doing well.

Also I've noticed, at least near me, that there are more indie game stores popping up. Once gamestop dies we'll probably see even more.

We've had a Game Xchange for the past several years, about a mile away from a Gamestop. It's good for retro games, with the prices comparable to Amazon after shipping. I refuse to buy anything I can get from Gamestop, though.

I wanted to buy the last two Mass Effect games from them, but they tried to sell me the more expensive "trilogy edition" over the individual games, and let me think it came packed with dlc.

It did not. There is nothing added to the Xbox package of Mass Effect, that isn't available with the individual discs. Ended up buying disc 2 and 3 from Gamestop.

I think this is an O.K. response, I think the only way to be fair in sports is to use a measure like t level. As the line in sports is going to get weirder as specific traits can be controlled. Identity will be the issue when people actually have short term viral rewrites of characteristics. You say impossible but you've been able to temporarily rewrite respiratory cells for cystic fibrosis for 30 years.

non binary gender is not necessarily mental illness, it could be some form of gene expression we don't understand. It may even have an evolutionary role. Who's to say psychological sexuality or even Genetic expression is just a or b, we know it's not just x and y. Sometimes sections are switched off on chromosomes it's possible in a double x female some unusual y expression could happen through mosaic effects.

Speaking of my god daughter, she had a rough time lol. She got her christmas presents taken away cuz my cousin thought she hid this dress she was supposed to wear. Turns out my other cousin(her brother) had accidentally taken the dress.

The interesting thing, is it's not only men pushing against transgender athletes. There's a case recently where a transgender woman competed in a woman's sport, and won handedly, sparking an accusation of biological unfairness from other women athletes.

Edit: Not the example I was thinking of, but here's one:

Lol my cousin was kinda drunk when her bro arrived and she found out he had it and she didn't really apologize. My mom kept telling my god daughter to unfold her arms cuz she'd be getting her presents back. She showed up with blotchy eyes you could tell she was crying.

there was a woman swimmer in the 50s who was genetically a man but had no male parts she had female parts, she also won. It turned out 20 years later she was XY... point is Gender is more complex because of gene expression. Look her/him up DMB. It's true.

Aren't you talking about a hermaphrodite? Or something along those lines?

That's sort of what it is, but that term doesn't really work with how gene expression works. It's not really specific enough and she only had female sexual characteristics expressed. Her phenotype superficially was 100% female.

Those people are rare though.

Yes, no doubt, but how rare? I'm XY, you're XY but... have either of us had our cells examined to prove it? This woman/man married as a woman, she looked like a woman why would she think differently and who's to say the reverse isn't happening people who have the sexual organs and correct chromosomes for a woman or man are thinking like the opposite gender through gene expression?

Here's what I find really preposterous about the whole discrimination against transgender thing, be it bathrooms, sports, whatever else.

Essentially the argument is that it's bigoted and disgusting to segregate on the basis of biological sex and that doing so makes you a regressive piece of shit... but discriminating on the basis of gender identity is A-okay...?

I'm not sure I follow your train of thought?

And the decisions to allow trans people to go to the bathroom of their gender identity and to allows trans people to compete in sports as their gender identity are not comparable.

There are biological advantages males have over females in physicality down to their very bone structure, which sexual reassignment surgery and treatment can not change. I'm not 100% well-versed in the science, but if those advantages persist in trans women then no, frankly they should not be allowed to compete with cis women in physical sports. It simply is not fair to the cis women who are training as athletes to have to compete with someone who has an innate and frankly readily apparent advantage to their physical prowess that women as can't match. In theory anyway. I've never had enough of a horse in this race to do the research to see how true this is and frankly I don't care enough to. And a counterpoint that I've been buzzing in my head for the past two minutes concerning the athletic advantages of being biologically male is that people with huge athletic advantages due to their athletically superior genes (like Lance Armstrong and his big ass heart IIRC) are allowed to dominate their peers without any fuss. One counter I've considered is that the athletic disparity is not as large or insurmountable as the one between biological males and females, which doesn't really satisfy me because I honestly don't know if it's true. Another which I find a bit better is the argument that genetic anomalies like Lance are not "choices" like living and identifying as trans is, so there is less potential for abuse.

By comparison, cis women aren't forced into competition or anything like that by allowing trans women into their bathrooms. The argument made is that it is unsafe for cis women to let trans women in. If there is evidence for that I'd like to see it. 👆

Not challenging you specifically for that, just saying in general. 👆

Daaamn, that's some text n' shit.
