It's a way to use peer pressure to "fit in" with the populace. It's stupid, too. And it doesn't work as people pull further and further away from them. They already sealed the deal with Trump getting reelected in 2020.

I also like it how he talked about how The Media has radicalized and obsesses with identity politics. Yep it's the people who sarcastically go "ohoho, both sides!". The implication is democrats are flawed but decent people and republicans are monsters.
This stuff is getting dangerous, being linked to the far right or alt right(what is the difference?) could make you a target. It is shocking that the same side that feels that wrongly(in their view) calling Ilhan Omar an anti-semite endangers her...seems to be okay with mislabeling people as essentially nazis or nazi adjacent.
