I think it makes sense in some instances, e.g. Hank Azaria‎ voicing Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, but not others, e.g. Mike Henry voicing Cleveland Brown. The difference is that Azaria is portraying a racial stereotype. In which case, it is the portrayal, not the actor, that is problematic. If Azaria portrayed Nahasapeemapetilon in a non-stereotypical way, I think he could continue to voice the character. I think for actors like Henry, it is easier to no longer perform the role than to have to defend doing so for perpetuity. Because even though his portrayal is not problematic, there will always be someone who is perpetually offended, and it is not worth the effort for a character who is rarely featured anymore.
And Phil Lamar one of the best voice actors out there who happens to be black was the voice of Samurai Jack. An Asian stereotype.
Like I said, the left has once more draw a line in the sand, and it’s gonna back and bite them in the ass real hard.
