I did read some research that Italian Americans finally research income parity with the white population in 1955. And their struggle to do so took 70 years. There are multiple papers and opinions as to why Italians were successful after getting a rough start. Some leftist sociologists claim it was because Italians looked "white" but that's simply not true if you ask old timers like my grandfather who got his ass kicked walking to and from school for just being Italian despite his "whiteness." There's a violence charge for this: aggravated assault.

It would be nearly impossible to get any of the attempted homicide charges to stick.
