(Maybe market research shows a protected class spends a lot of money, and so get pandered to. Maybe a politicians wants to curry votes. Maybe a group of lawyers figured out how to make money off if lawsuits, and want to educate the public on how they're wronged..)

Anyone who studied history even a tiny bit knows that Hitler was seen as a hero by a crapload of Germans. He was heavily praised in the beginning of his reign for bringing Germany out of their disastrously economic ruin from WWI reparations.
It's possible to acknowledge all the facts of evil people without having to admire their evil deeds.
He also took care great care of dogs or something. So anyone who cares about dogs is like Hitler? No, that's stupid.

Didn't he help to "bring them out of their economic ruin" by stealing all of the money from the successful jewish people in his country though? I'm sure that was a large part of it anyway.
Hitler made the jews a scapegoat for many of Germany's problems and so the people felt justified for how they treated them (though I don't think they all realized the extent of Hitler's plans for them).
Neo-nazis of today do the exact same thing: make the jews a scapegoat for all of their problems and the country's problems.
