what's funny is that the democrats are so identity politics oriented that we can pretty safely assume that whoever it is they run - it will probably be either a woman or a member of some other novelty group, but more than likely a woman. so they can pat themselves on the back for being so enlightened as to let a woman rule over them.

You're seeing the sad desperation of leftists right in this very thread. Notice how the narrative was framed? If you don't think Maxine Waters has a chance in hell at winning? That is apparently because she is a woman. If you didn't like the prospect of Hilary Clinton becoming the president? Again, it's apparently because she is a woman because gosh, what other reason could someone not want her as president?

It's the tactic they always use: when in doubt scream racism or sexism and boom, conversation gets shut down.
