I think that Nimrod's countermeasures or adaptations would become a commanding interface that would eventually take over the entire Phalanx. Ultron did it, and I believe that Nimrod is at least as powerful as Ultron, and if not it would at least be able to adapt and change faster than Ultron has been seen to.
