Gonna have agree with this. Being inebriated might lessen your decisions, skill etc. But strength should be roughly the same and drinking would have heightened his damage soak
Oh and to seal the deal, Drax vs Ronan:
Around 45 seconds in Drax literally punches Ronan in the chest several times to *zero* effect lol. Drax was drunk, but pissed. Ronan was not harmed.
This is an utter stomp for Ronan. He seems stronger and more durable than Drax. Considering Drax himself has some decent strength feats in both movies, this just goes to show how powerful Ronan is even without his staff. Which keep in mind the staff had power even before the gem.

Considering the only other time he fought a Kree in Korath, he was completely sober and he killed him, there's some precedence for it. But Ronan could be the "Thor" of his race like in the comics and just be vastly above normal Kree. They didn't go into details really so it's an opinion.
Also, considering the damage he took ping-ponging through an asteroid belt and crashing onto a planet while laughing it off suggests he's much tougher than the Ronan fight. If GotG 2 feats are allowed.
My main point though was that I assumed Drax had his knives in this fight, which would make a very big difference against Ronan.

Drax is definitely going to be more dangerous than he was in their fight. but when it comes to durability we do know Ronan can tank his punches. As for being much tougher in the 2nd film, why would we assume that? We just got more feats that show his power levels. So if anything, wouldn't that just show how strong Ronan was? He obviously wasn't a normal Kree, he just looked at Drax after being punched several times, he wasn't hurt.
As for the knives, if we allow them each their weapons that means Ronan has his staff. I do not see that ending well for Drax either.
