Slade usually uses guns though. I'm assuming he doesn't get those here.

Doc Octs arms are too quick, and too powerful. They can simply grab him and pry the helmet off.

Any "arms" would get grabbed out of his hands, and if Hulk got tossed around Slade sure isn't overpowering them.

Not arguing with the outcome, but Punisher uses firearms and doesn't exactly hold back. Ock survived his encounter with Frank. And his tentacles are fast enough for him to deflect bullets. Just playing devil's advocate here.

Superman does pull his punch's. And he's been hurt by less.

But even if we accept that as his baseline, Oct did this with Adamantium arms:

Octs arm can pluck Spidey and Matt out of mid air, Slade isn't avoiding them. All Oct has to do is grab him, then he can try ripping the helmet off, or breaking some bones by twisting his joints in different directions.

Just because it's durable doesn't mean Oct can't work past it.

Is Oc bullet proof? Slade carries a power staff that can blow helicopters out of the air.

Taking the helmet off won't do anything. Its the suit that creates the gravity sheath. But you're right about one thing. His only hope is to grab Slade.

They're supposed to be useful up to and including a nuclear explosion.

Of course, writer interview and all that. Take with a pinch of salt.
