Dr. Doom vs. Cyclops with a twist

Thats an odd way of thinking. Fighting legions of "mooks" is how you get established. Ninjak for example almost exclusively faces mooks, same goes for Shadow, etc.. whereas chars like tim drake fights named combatants and routinely gets outclassed. Scott just has more to rely on than simply h2h skills.

I am NOT being combative w. you when i say i find that an odd way of looking at things.
We simply disagree here, and i appreciate you clarifying your stance on this for me/the thread, as i was trying to do for you/the thread.

I'm very excited. I just discovered that the yellow plush puppet in my sig actually has a name - 'Flat Eric'. He made hilarious electro-dance songs in the 90's. Here's a link.

I'm sorry it has nothing to do with the thread, it's just that I was so pleased to discover this I had to share.

For the record I think Doom wins. You just can't argue with wrestling a full-grown lion butt naked.

You're just finding that out now? How old are you?

One thing about Cyclops that needs to be remembered too, is that while he doesn't have many feats of his own, he does have statements made about him too. During the Claremont days, Colossus flat out states that it's Cyclops's training that helps him win out.

I have no idea if it puts him above Doom (and tbh, from what I've seen so far, I can't see it doing it), but it's easy to take what little we've gotten over the years and put Cyclops above most non-martial arts fighters in comics, seeing as he has at least two himself.

Scott is the Xmens version of Rogers without the flag and speeches. His spatial awarness that surpasses teleporters (looking at you elf), uncanny aim and a tactical genius that can/has defeated his own team solo. Couple that with an ability to adapt to any situation and Doom has his hands full. People just sell him short in favor of "cooler" xmen.

Nice to see more people on KMC that share that opinion.

None of those things (spatial awareness/uncanny aim are all about his eye beams, tactical genius is about his leading teams) have any bearing on this fight.

Since we're at the point where we're waxing poetic about his many non OP related virtues and how cool Cyclops is, i'm comfortable with my call on a winner here.
Doom.

You seem annoyed.

Quite Pleased actually.

I thought putting a 😛 at the end of my starement qould have come off as snarky though.

Ikr. Thats just how riv posts tho ive noticed. Any post contrary to his is seen as a challenge. Even if its not directed at him.

Pr u remember when Scott used a sword to kill a monster while blindfolded?

Maybe. Maybe not.
At least i've never said i'm actively out to get another poster.

Still waiting on that, BTW, boo.

He always is.

Perhaps because Doom has nothing of substance aside from that infamous lion feat.

Against Cap, it's a different kind of a feat and mostly lip service.

Against Panther, he still has his armor, whether it's fully operational or not.

Feats and abilities of both parties can be belittled.

This one?

It's a good feat, as he is pretty beat up by the time the actual fight occurs.

^ Another great fight of fighting blind, but I wouldn't want to see Cyke trying to engage Victor in a sword fight, tbh:

Earlier in the issue, he talks about how the Professor used to make him train blindfolded, so it's not a new experience for him. That, and earlier on he'd been fighting a group of man-bat type things, and was doing well until they overwhelmed him.

But yeah, I wouldn't bet on him against Doom either.

Thats the one 👍👍. I could not remember the scene. Getting old thx

In the fight against the street thugs, he mentions how he learned from other X-Men:

Np.

yeah was thinking that too @ Stilt. Just shows how he goes out of his way to learn from others even while he's teaching them at the same time.

Classy. Doom/Namor/Tchalla need to do a team-up. They have more in common than they realize

Originally, T'Challa and Doom respected each other.

Hudlin ruined that, I believe.
